I'm having trouble downloading Alma.

You can usually resolve this issue by relaunching the app. To relaunch the app:

  1. Double tap the home button to bring up the multitasking bar.
  2. Press and hold on the Alma icon until the icons start to jiggle.
  3. Tap the red delete icon in the upper left corner of the Alma icon.
  4. Tap the Alma icon to relaunch the app.

If you are still experiencing issues downloading the chapters in Alma, please try deleting the app and re-downloading it from the App Store. You will be able to re-download the app free of charge.

I don't hear any sound when reading Alma.

Make sure your device's volume is turned up and that your device is not in silent mode. To turn off silent mode slide the mute switch located on the side of your device next to the volume buttons so the orange not is not visible.

If using an iPad and the sound still does not play you may need to turn off silent mode from the multitasking bar:

  1. Double tap the home button to bring up the multitasking bar.
  2. Swipe to the bar right to reveal the iPad audio controls. On the left side of the screen you'll see a speaker icon. If there is a slash through the icon this indicates you’re in silent mode.
  3. Tap the speaker icon to turn off silent mode.

Why does Alma require a Wi-Fi connection?

Alma includes around 80 minutes of videos, with over 130 fullscreen photos that is downloaded the first time you launch the app. This content is quite large and if downloaded over the cellular network would take a very long time to load and would push many users over their allotted monthly data plans causing them to encounter pricy overuse fees. For this reason Alma requires a Wi-Fi connection to download the content in the app.

You may also make sure your device has the space needed to store the whole video, which is 400 mo for iPad 1 or 2 and 500 mo for iPad 3

Once the content has been downloaded it is stored on your device and you no longer need a Wi-Fi connection to enjoy the content.

I have trouble using Alma on my iPad 1

Some parts of the program may appear slow to browse on some devices while videos are downloading in the background. Wait until the download is complete to resume your experience and everything should run smoothly.
